City Reach Network Braddock
Braddock is a city Beyond Decline. This city has reached the point where buildings on main street are being razed and the business district turned into a ghost town.
From a peak population of 30,000, Braddock now has less than 3,000 residents.
Since 1990, Braddock has suffered a population change of minus -140%. By 2014, that decline is expected to increase another 12%
Braddock is a city in need of hope. It is a city ready for the word and love of Christ. It is in this city that City Reach Network established a church and men's recovery home.
The Lead Pastor at City Reach Braddock, Pastor Jon Shaffer, was born and raised in Braddock. He ran the streets and lived the hopeless life of drugs and violence. Now Pastor Jon Shaffer ministers to those same people he once knew. His dedication is born out of commitment to Christ and his love for his city of Braddock.
The City Reach Church in Braddock opened less than a year ago and already has an ever increasing attendance. The church even supports Bible studies on Thursday night, Thanksgiving dinner and a City Reach program for the residents of Braddock.
